Why ChefPicks Exists

ChefPicks started because we couldn't find a single Indian review site that took kitchen appliance buying seriously. Most articles were rehashed spec sheets or thinly disguised ads. Search "best mixer grinder in India" and you'd find ten identical listicles — same five products, same copied Amazon descriptions, same lack of real analysis.

We wanted something different: reviews written specifically for Indian kitchens, with Indian pricing, local availability, and the kind of cooking most of us actually do at home — from daily rotis and dosa batter to weekend biryanis and holiday sweets. That's why we built ChefPicks.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: help Indian families make confident kitchen appliance purchases without wading through misleading marketing or inflated claims. Every review on ChefPicks is designed to answer the question a real buyer would ask — "Which one should I actually buy, and why?"

We cover over 30 kitchen appliance categories, from air fryers and mixer grinders to niche tools like sous vide machines and wet grinders. Each review compares 5-10 models, evaluates them on category-specific criteria, and names a clear winner with reasoning you can verify.

How We Review

Every ChefPicks review follows the same rigorous process. We start by identifying the most popular and promising models in a category based on search demand, Amazon bestseller data, and new product launches. Then we go deep:

Spec analysis: We compare wattage, capacity, materials, motor type, safety features (BIS/ISI), and warranty terms across all shortlisted products.
User review mining: We read hundreds of real buyer reviews from Amazon.in, Flipkart, and brand-specific forums. We look for consistent patterns — recurring complaints about durability, praise for specific features, common failure points.
After-sales evaluation: We assess each brand's service centre availability across Indian cities, warranty claim process, and customer support responsiveness.
Price tracking: We monitor prices monthly on Amazon.in and update our recommendations when pricing shifts significantly.

Naveen Bhavnani founded ChefPicks to cut through the noise around kitchen-appliance buying in India. His work is research and analysis — comparing specs, pricing, warranties and real buyer feedback across every category to surface the picks that are genuinely worth your money.

We approach appliances with Indian cooking in mind — how a mixer grinder is likely to handle tough spice loads, how an air fryer is rated for paneer tikka and samosas by real buyers, and whether an induction cooktop works with Indian-style heavy-bottom kadais. This practical, India-first lens is what separates our reviews from generic international appliance sites.

Editorial Independence

Our ratings and rankings are never for sale. No brand can pay — with money, samples, or anything else — to earn a higher score or a better ranking than a product deserves. When a brand sends us a product to review, including models not listed on Amazon.in, we evaluate it on exactly the same criteria as everything else and place it wherever it honestly belongs. What a brand can never buy is a rating or a ranking it hasn't earned.

We are a participant in the Amazon Associates (India) programme. When you click a product link on our site and make a purchase on Amazon.in, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This is how we fund our operations — but it never influences which products we recommend or how we rate them. A product rated 6/10 earns us the same commission as one rated 9/10.
